Well, we recently updated our sign-up process to make the experience as quick and efficient as possible. Hey, at the end of the day, you just want to Quu up songs! Radio Playlists...

Hope everyone had a great time ringing in 2009! I sure did ;-)

As we begin the new year, I wanted to share some new MyQuu Lounge features that released in the last couple of weeks. When you sign into your MyQuu account, you may have noticed that there is now a "Radio Playlists" section of the Lounge in the top right corner. The Playlists section allows you to quickly scroll through favorite radio stations in your area.


What I really like is the ability to dig into the past and find songs that played in the last seven days. Imagine hearing a song on the radio and not being able to remember who sings it. But, being able to reach into the past and pull the song out of the ether - Nice! Just click on "Recent Songs Played".


A pop-up window will display today's current song list with an option to look through the last seven days worth of songs. You can see the time the song played, the title, and the artist. You can even buy the song from you favourite online retailer. Its a slick tool...

Log in to your MyQuu account and click on the "Artists" tab in the MyQuu section of the Lounge.

Click on "Add Artist" and find the singer you want to add to your mobile alerts. Select the singer and click on "Ok". Then, enable the alert by selecting the "Alert Me" check box. Done.


The next time the song plays on your favourite station you will be alerted via text message. Never miss a song on the radio again - SWEET!

How to Get Quu on Your Cell Phone

Its easy to get started with Quu. Follow these simple steps:

1. Sign Up to create a free Quu account

2. You will receive a text message via SMS containing a link. Click on the link and the software will auto-install. You are now ready to start sending songs and ads that you hear to the Quu Lounge.

3. Login to MyQuu.com and enter the Quu Lounge to see what you have Quu'ed up. Explore all the features of the Lounge. Buy music, listen to songs, or see what others are doing.

One of the great things about using MyQuu is its ability to instantly grab the name of the song you are currently listening to on the radio - all by using your mobile phone. So, say you are listening to a killer song on the radio. But, you don't know its name. Simply Quu it up!

I use an iPhone. When I registered on MyQuu for the first time, the welcome text message sent to my mobile phone gave me access to the MyQuu mobile application:

When I find a song I want to grab, I simply press the "Quu Song". The song is instantly saved in the Music section in the MyQuu Radio Lounge. In this case I Quu'ed up "Back That Thang Up" by Lil Wayne:

I have now saved the name of this song. I can buy it directly from here or even listen to some free stuff from this artist on YouTube - all from within the MyQuu Lounge.

Why I Love RADIO!

I had a friend the other day ask me why I love radio so much. It's an interesting question.

You would think that radio is under assault by the likes of iPods and XM radio. But actually, the opposite is true. Radio continues to enjoy a large following. I suspect that the reason lies in the nature of the medium - its unpredictability and randomness. I love listening to the back and forth banter of radio hosts and shock jocks - the gossip, the hyperbole, the innuendo. It can sometimes be over the top - maybe that's why I listen to it :-)

But, here is my point - you can only get this staged drama by listening to radio. Music devices fall short on capturing unpredictability. What makes MyQuu great is that it embraces radio's unpredictability and makes order from it? Want to know the last five songs that played on your favorite station? Find it on MyQuu. Want to get reminded the next time a great song is played? Follow the artist and get a text message to your mobile phone the second it comes on the air.
